Ethiopia Time - Live EAT, Calendar Converter & Timezone Comparison
Check live East Africa Time (EAT), convert between Ethiopian and Gregorian calendars, compare time
zones, and plan meetings across Ethiopia and the world. Ethiopia keeps East Africa Time (UTC+3) all
year with no daylight saving, and in daily life counts hours from dawn and dusk rather than midnight.
This site shows the current time in Ethiopia, today's Ethiopian calendar date, a two-way Ethiopian
and Gregorian date converter, a time zone comparison tool, and a meeting planner.

How to Use Ethiopia Time — Guide & Tutorial
Learn how to use Ethiopia Time's tools: live time display, calendar converter, timezone comparison,
and meeting planner. Everything runs in your browser; there is no app to install and no account to
create.
- Read the live clock. The large number at the top shows the exact time in
Ethiopia right now, in East Africa Time (EAT, UTC+3), updating every second. A second panel shows
the same moment in Ethiopian time, with a day or night label such as ጠዋት (morning) or ማታ
(evening). A badge tells you whether your device clock looks accurate.
- Convert a date. In the calendar converter, pick any Gregorian month, day, and
year on the left; the Ethiopian date on the right updates instantly. You can also work the other
way: change the Ethiopian side and the Gregorian date follows. The Ethiopian year runs about
seven to eight years behind the Gregorian year, and leap years show an extra day in the short
13th month, Pagume.
- Compare time zones. Choose any city from the list to see the current time in
Addis Ababa next to the current time in that city, plus the exact hour difference. Ethiopia never
changes its clocks for daylight saving.
- Plan a meeting. A table lists every hour from morning to evening. Rows that fall
inside working hours (08:00–19:00) on both sides are highlighted, so you can pick a meeting time
that works for everyone without doing the math.
Frequently asked questions:
- Do I need to install anything or sign up? No. Every tool runs in your browser.
- Does the clock work offline? It uses your device time converted to UTC+3, so it keeps
ticking once the page is loaded.
- Is the conversion accurate for past and future dates? Yes. The converter uses the full
Ethiopian calendar rules, including leap years and Pagume.
About Ethiopia Time — Our Mission & Background
Discover the story behind Ethiopia Time, our mission to help people coordinate across time zones, and
our commitment to accuracy and accessibility.
Ethiopia Time is a free utility for anyone who needs the current time in Ethiopia, today's Ethiopian
calendar date, or a quick conversion between Ethiopian and Gregorian dates. It is built to be fast,
accurate, and easy to understand, with no clutter and no sign-up.
Ethiopia keeps East Africa Time, UTC+3, all year. But in daily life, hours are counted from dawn and
dusk, not midnight. We show both the standard clock and the traditional count, so the time on screen
matches what you hear on the street in Addis Ababa. The Ethiopian calendar runs about seven to eight
years behind the Gregorian calendar and has 13 months, including a short one called Pagume. It marks
Enkutatash, the new year, in September.
Whether you are in Addis Ababa calling London, or in Toronto planning a trip to Gondar, the tools here
bridge the gap. All calculations happen on your device. We do not ask you to sign up, and we do not
store your data on a server. Our mission is simple: keep Ethiopian time and the Ethiopian calendar
easy to read, convert, and share, for Ethiopians at home and abroad, and for anyone working with
Ethiopia.

We work hard to keep the clock and calendar conversions accurate, and the math follows the established

browser settings, which can be wrong. Always confirm important dates and times, such as flights,
deadlines, or legal dates, with an authoritative source before acting on them.

stop offering the service, or parts of it, without notice. We will do our best to keep the core time
